Girls Will Be Girls

Painted faces
Painted feet
Painted arms
ain't so neat

See the doctor
Watch her squirm
Wonder what
is on that arm

It's not bruises
Not from pain
It's those girls
gone insane

Re and Jud
Two bosom buds
Born to mischief
not to suds

  1. Very cool face paint, very artistic....but I am hoping they used washable markers!

  2. I love the rhythm in this poem. It is both familiar and unsettling, much like the artistry displayed in face paint!

  5. What a great rollicking poem about two mischievous buddies. Face paint looks like it may have some inspiration from Picasso too!

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE COMMENTS! :)

The doctor part...Yeah, I was able to explain the background info to students before I shared, so it made more sense... I had to take Re to the doctor last week for a sore toe. Her feet had remains of black marker. She'd scrubbed and scrubbed and couldn't get it off. Our doctor's first name is Jodie. When she looked at Re's foot, she did a double take. At first, I thought--she thought--there was horrible bruising. Then she explained she thought HER name was written on Re's foot. It was actually JUD's autograph. :) Made us all smile!
